online learning work?
In many ways, taking one of Pace's online courses is no
different than taking a traditional college class. Online courses have the same
objectives, tuition and academic credit as their on-campus counterparts. You'll still have
an instructor, textbooks, classmates, homework assignments and exams, and all the same
regulations and policies apply regarding academic standing, grading and tuition
cancellation. The difference is that there are no structured classroom meetings or
lectures. Pace uses a variety of different media to deliver and teach classes. You'll
access the school's courseware - CourseInfo - via the Internet and will also use
textbooks, streaming media, discussion boards and email.
4. What does
it take to participate successfully?
Besides making sure you have the right technical skills, hardware and software, you should
also consider your learning style, your level of comfort communicating via discussion
boards and email as well as your ability to find a proctor

The program was designed for people who want to be Network Technicians,

All credits earned will transfer into a four-year Bachelor degree program depending on the

"high quality" degree program?
Absolutely. Pace University is an accredited University, and these courses are taught by
university faculty. At the completion of the program, you will possess the ability to
analyze and solve complex technical problems as well as document and communicate technical
information in addition to hands-on experience with telecommunications technology.

9. Do I
ever have to go to Pace's campus?
No. These courses are taught completely online and, as long as you have access to a
computer, you can do your work at any time. However, many courses require that you have a proctor supervise certain exams and assignments which may
require that you take a test at a location other than your home or work place. Although
you are not required to come to campus, you are certainly welcome to if you like.

have access to library services?

The cost of each course depends on the number of credits being offered. For more

16. How do I
pay for classes?
How you pay for classes will depend on the Tuition Assistance policies of your company. If
you are paying directly, and getting reimbursed, you should make checks payable to Pace
University and send them to:

does tuition include?
Tuition refers specifically to the cost of the course. It does not include textbooks, and
there are additional fees including an application fee, general institution fee and
laboratory fees that may or may not be covered by your company. Be sure to review you
company's Tuition Assistance program in addition to all the
fees associated with the program.

Pace does offer financial aid to qualifying student. In order to start the process, you will need to file the

20. Why do I
have to provide my high school transcripts in addition to my college transcripts?
High school transcripts are required by the New York State Education Department regardless
of whether or not you went to college.
21. What is
In New York State, a post secondary student can receive an "official"
certificate upon completion of a prescribed group of courses. A certificate is not
certification. Just like a degree, a certificate is registered with New York State and
offers adults students who may not be interested in a full degree program an opportunity
to acquire specific knowledge in a major area.
