Description
This course is designed to assist matriculated students participating in the Prior Learning Assessment seminar to evaluate their life experiences in relation to Pace University's NACTEL credit bearing courses; to research and analyze specific learning areas; and to present an effective Prior Learning Assessment portfolio for evaluation. This course is offered only during the Late Fall and Summer semesters. This restriction allows Pace University to evaluate and award credit to students in a timely manner.
Goals and Objectives
- To employ critical and analytical thinking.
- To conduct effective research and provide accurate documentation.
- To write with clarity and purpose.
- To achieve a broader understanding of the personal definition of learning.
- To develop a comprehensive portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of critical thinking, research and documentation, and writing skills, and meets the requirements for the award of PLA credit.
Prerequisites
Interview by Assistant Director concerning student's qualifying experience and course goals
Student matriculation
Receipt of evidence of prior training and experience
By Permission of Instructor or Advisor
Successful completion of one semester at Pace
